Welcome to the contest page for the First Annual ClubMAC Competition held at
Radio Aero Modelers of Seattle (RAMS) at 9AM on July 12th 2026
Adapted from the AMA/IMAC Scale Aerobatics rules, this relaxed club-level competition is designed specifically for smaller electric airplanes with an emphasis on smooth, scale-style aerobatic flying.
ALL skill levels can compete!
Electric-powered airplanes only
Must be able to vertically climb
Up to 70" wingspan
Gyro/stabilization allowed
Aircraft must pass a basic pre-flight inspection and be in good working condition
Examples include: Timber, Extra, Aeroscout, Cub, Laser, Ultimate, etc.
Three rounds to fly the sequence for your chosen class
Lowest round dropped
Each maneuver is 5 points (including takeoff and landing)
5 = Excellent
4 = Good
3 = Needs Improvement
2 = Pretty Rough
1 = Total Mess
0 = Not Completed
Aircraft must stay on the far side of the runway midline
The contest airspace or “Box” is roughly 700' wide and up to 200’ tall
Judges may stop unsafe flights immediately
Pilots should try to:
Keep maneuvers centered
Maintain consistent altitude
Fly smooth lines
Pilots must:
Fly maneuvers in order
Maintain safe control throughout the flight
If a maneuver is badly missed:
Score zero for that maneuver
Continue the sequence
No break penalties or restarts
Pinecone - for someone just starting out with RC flying - Call Sheet, Judging Sheet
Seedling - for a pilot who is new to precision flying - Call Sheet A, Call Sheet B, Judging Sheet
Sapling - for the established pilot who may not have competed yet - Call Sheet A, Call Sheet B, Judging Sheet
Evergreen - for more experienced pilots who want some challenge - Call Sheet A, Call Sheet B, Judging Sheet
3D - for a mix of low and slow and high energy - Call Sheet, Judging Sheet

We will have laminated call sheets on hand the day of the contest.
